Introduction

Whether you’re applying for your first job, or seeking promotion, it’s likely that at some stage you will be asked to complete a psychometric test. A few years ago psychometric tests were only routinely used to assess staff for senior management posts. These days however, most major employers use psychological tests as a standard part of their selection process. Psychometric tests are now routinely used to select call centre staff, front-line staff in retail and sales roles, and staff in a wide range of technical, engineering and accounting roles. So, if a potential employer hasn’t already asked you to complete a psychometric test as part of the job application process, it is likely that one will do so shortly.

This site is designed to provide you with all the information you need to know about how these tests are designed and how they work, what they measure and how this information is typically used by a prospective employer. In addition, the site contains a number of examples of the types of tests that are commonly used for staff selection, giving you the opportunity to experience these tests first hand. The range of practice tests that is available for you to complete changes every few months, so you might want to visit this site a few times in order to get experience of all the different types of tests that are typically used for staff selection.
